In this post we discuss a recent custom ring redesign project with a floral theme.

When our client first came to us, she presented us with a floral themed ring which she had just commissioned elsewhere. When the finished ring didn’t feel quite right, she brought it to us and asked if we could reimagine the design.

Our mandate remained the same as the initial design, to create a floral themed ring using her own gemstones which could be worn every day — without the design catching on clothing or getting in the way of daily life.

Our approach was to use negative space within the design, weaving floral themes between the stones and using empty space to creating a lighter appearance, while also allowing each gemstone to stand on its own. The ring was also designed to sit low and comfortably on the finger, minimizing the chance of it to catch while preserving the presence and beauty of the stones.

With this design we aimed to take the gemstones which she already loved and give them a new expression, designed specifically around the way she wanted to wear them.
